TRAUMA
My approach is rooted in the belief that we are hardwired with an innate healing capacity. So often when we are in pain and suffering, or feeling confused or stuck, we become convinced that something outside ourselves will provide relief. The truth is, the means to achieving what you want already lives inside you. I’m here to help you trust yourself again. Through mindful exploration of your inner landscape, we’ll recover a sense of self and a truer expression of self.
Ultimately, my goal is to help you feel better. I believe our emotions and visceral reactions can serve as a powerful source of information, like guide posts pointing us to what needs attention. We will slow down to listen to the internal spaces, track patterns of being, and lean into your inner knowing to find healing.

THERAPY WITH
WENDIE

IN THE ROOM
As a therapist, I am authentic, nonjudgmental, and actively engaged. I will not passively sit and listen. While I will be emotionally attuned, empathic, and affirming, I will also do my part to uncover hard truths, ask challenging questions, and get brutally honest about what needs to change.
Together we will create an opportunity for you to get courageously curious and I will help you access your inner resources.
RECONNECT TO YOUR VOICE, YOUR INTUITION, YOUR WISDOM
APPROACH
I provide trauma-informed, emotion-based, inclusive care, integrating traditional modalities with experiential and somatic-centered approaches. Incorporating emerging understandings from interpersonal neurobiology, affective neuroscience, attachment theory, and the power of mind-body connection, I take a holistic and individualistic treatment approach that matches your specific needs.

AEDP
Accelerated Experiential
Dynamic Psychotherapy
Developed by Diana Fosha, PhD, Accelerated Expereintial Dynamic Psychotherapy is an experiential model that seeks to alleviate patients’ psychological suffering by helping them process the overwhelming emotions associated with trauma in a way that facilitates corrective emotional and relational experiences that mobilize positive changes in our neuroplastic brains.

EMDR
Eye Movement
Desensitization and Reprocessing
Developed by Francine Shapiro, PhD, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to briefly focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation, which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories.

ST
Somatic
Therapy
Drawing from several somatic modalities including Peter A. Levine, PhD, Somatic Experiencing, Pat Ogden, PhD, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Stephen Porges, PhD, Polyvagal Theory, therapy will include a body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and other stress-related disorders. Somatic therapies help to develop self-regulation skills, regain an internal sense of safety, restore balance in the nervous system, and reconnect you with your body's wisdom.
